Mindfulness Meditation.

‘The best way to capture moments is to pay attention. This is how we cultivate mindfulness’ ~ John Kabat

Is your mind full or mindful?

Mindfulness is paying attention and to be mindful is to be aware of what is present, here and now. It is to be awake to, or noticing, your immediate experience (thoughts, emotions, sensations) as it arises with curiosity and kindness. To be mind-full is to be filled with thoughts - and typically, to be 'lost' in these thoughts.

It is a practice that has been around for thousands of years with origins in Buddhism

We all know we can look after our physical health by exercising, eating our five a day and drinking plenty of water but what about our minds? This is where mindfulness comes in. Practicing mindfulness helps us to strengthen and look after our minds.

Whether you are brand new to mindfulness or practice regularly, the best way to approach it is to have a go. Let go of any expectations and just see what happens.

One of the benefits of covid - yes, I am declaring there is one - is that, through the power of zoom and cyberspace, people where still able to come together and meet; to practice.

It’s great being able to do things in person but what online offers us, is the opportunity for us to gather from all over the world at the same time. During covid, it connected us at a time we have never felt more isolated and alone.

And, it still connects us. You can practice with your favourite teacher, or meet a friend for a cuppa when you are 10s, 100s, 1000s miles apart.

This is why offering an online mindfulness class is so important to me

In person mindfulness meet-ups

TBC
Once a month you can join me, in-person, for an hour of mindfulness.

Whether you’ve been practicing for years or have never given mindfulness a go, I’d love for you to join me at one of our monthly meet-ups.
Going online and being able to practice from anywhere in the world with a teacher you trust, is priceless. But then, so is practicing in-person; being part of a group, connecting with others and connecting with yourself.
In these one hour sessions, we will explore one, two or three different mindfulness practices; from breath awareness to body sensing and even mindful eating. You will have a chance to be still, to be quiet, to be present as I hold the space and guide you. You will also have the opportunity to reflect and, if you wish, share any reflections.
